Who Needs to Receive This Information Sheet?
✓ You MUST send this if:
- Your tenant had an assured or assured shorthold tenancy that started before 1 May 2026
- The tenancy is still ongoing (the tenant hasn't moved out)
- The property is in the private rented sector in England
✗ You do NOT need to send this if:
- Your tenant's tenancy started on or after 1 May 2026 (new tenancies)
- Your tenant lives in social housing
- Your tenant is a lodger
- The tenancy has already ended before 31 May 2026
